Sophia’s Purse

I was asked by the organizers of “Golden-Con: Thank you for Being A Fan” to create several pieces for the first ever convention. We pitched the idea of a giant version of Sophia’s iconic wicker purse and they went for it. The attendees seemed to love it.

now comes the weaving! we used over 720 feet of 5/8 inch flat reed and a ton of hot glue.
my dad came in from Virginia to help! Classic father-son bonding: making a giant purse.
About 150 white ball-pit balls for the beads and 3 cans of high gloss polyurethane to seal the reeds.
